Our Team
Laos
In Laos, our team is 100% local.
Luang Prabang Library
We are in partnership with Luang Prabang Library and their Community Outreach programme. We work together on writing and illustrating books in the Lao language, as well as posters and teaching tools for our extensive training programme. All our teams are fully trained as hygiene and puberty educators and are active in the schools, colleges, and community centres within the Province.
Pakzeng Community Learning Centre
An outreach programme of Lunag Prabang Library, the Lao team here come from Pakzeng village. An English teacher helps the resident librarian and children’s educator.
Rural Knowledge Team
The trained Rural Knowledge team operates from Pakzeng community centre and takes knowledge into remote rural areas. The team is made up of volunteers from the Community Learning Centre, the Lao Women’s Union, and the Mother & Baby Clinic, all based in Pakzeng village. They give village workshops on puberty, hygiene and nutrition using visual tools, games, songs and demonstrations.

Founder and President
Former registered nurse and Trainers of Trainers, with a Master in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene for Low-Income Countries, Sally Piper Pillitteri founded the French charity, Eau Laos Solidarité in 2010. The charity was born after a chance meeting with the head of a village. His words were a revelation, “At school, water, toilets and hygiene education are as important as books”. After installing toilets, water and setting up hygiene clubs, the charity has now enlarged its actions to include writing books, training, community empowerment, nutrition and hygiene at puberty for teens.
